A bank in Scarborough has a 9 month contract for a Mainframe/Web developer.
The CPCP Technology Solutions team supports and enchances the Cheque Image Hub(CIH) application .This application supports the Banks Cheque Image program various image delivery channels .The successful applicant will fil the role of a Programmer Analyst, Advisory -Mainframe by providing Technical and Cheque processing SME , developing solutions and providing production support , resulting in a positive impact to the team and Bank as a whole.
Key accountabilities
1 application analysis and design, and development for the Cheque Processing Host application
2. Assist technical resources in the analysis of business requirements in order to establish the technical feasibility of proposed initiatives
3. Responsible for the assessment and scoping of projects (from a development work effort perspective).
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Ensure a timely delivery of quality products/functions which meet end-user requirements and that are developed following the bank's development standards and methodology;
6. Responsible for performance analysis (from an application and environment perspective) and make recommendations to improve operational effectiveness
7. Work in a development team comprising both bank's staff and external consulting resources as required;
8. Deal effectively with external vendors, external business partners, and internal stake holders
9. Must be able to work within tight deadlines and schedules which may result in external work hours to meet project deliverables
10.Effectively communicate with departmental application development team members, management, and with the wider IT Architecture Office.
11 Assist with production support by 1) joining bridge calls to address production issues 2) carrying a production support pager for after hours support and 3) investigating customer support issues.

| Job Requirements |
Must have skills
1 3 to 5 years software development experience
2. 3 to 5 years experience in the financial industry
3. Expertise in Cobol, JCL? SQL (DB2),
4 Expertise in MVS, TSO ,SDSF
5 Expertise in Batch Processing applications
6 Expertise in code management processes ( Endevor)
7 Experienced in use of development tools ABENDAID
8 Familiar with Canadian Cheque Payment processes
9 Familiar with Windows and UNIX operating systems such as AIX. File System knowledge, Permissions, Scripting, etc.
10 Familiar with Banking applications in a national/global multi-bank, multi-lingual, multi-currencies environment.
11 Experience in production level operational design and support addressing best practices / designs for scalability, robustness, redundancy, system management, alert management, change management, and configuration management
12 Strong knowledge in designing and coding secure applications
