A bank in Downtown Toronto is looking for a System Administrator for a Nine Month contract (Extendable or go FTE) The Enterprise Cloud & Computer Operations is seeking a System Administrator to support various Wealth Management applications. The System Administrator will have the opportunity to work in a great work environment where they will be exposed to cutting edge technologies and different aspects of the bank, which can be a stepping stone for the contractor to branch off into other roles within the Bank. Weekly rotational shift – 7am-3:30pm, 11:30am-7pm (will initially start off with 9am-5pm)
Typical Day in Role:
• Provides wide ranging system administration in a multi-platform environment
• Responsible for general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, urgent system patching
• Writes and implements scripts to automate tasks
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware components that are problematic
• Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, network disruption awareness and predefined key processes
• Reviews system logs, application logs and security logs

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
2. 2-5 years experience required
3. Proven work experience as a system or network administrator
4. 3-5 years of overall experience as a Systems Admin
5. OS awareness- Unix/Linux (Red Hat Linux) (2+ years of hands on experience)
6. Solaris (2+ years of hands on experience)
7. Middleware, Jboss, continuous development, troubleshooting (2+ years of experience)
8. Strong communication skills- verbal and written
Nice to Have:
- FI/Big 5 Banks experience highly preferred
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins or Ansible
- Experience with Charles River
- ITIL Certification
