Job Description |
A bank in downtown Toronto is looking for a Technical Navigator for a 3 month contract to be renewed or go full-time.. The Digital Client Services - Group 1 is seeking an experienced Technical Navigator to manage the project releases for 3 of the bank’s Wealth Rapid Labs - WM System Onboarding, and the busines unit Onboarding and boths' Servicing. There will be a release approximately every 2-3 weeks. The Technical Navigator will assist and coordinate release management, deployment teams, and will coordinate as well as take part in things such as the application health check (after deployment) with Stakeholder and the team. The Technical Navigator will also be responsible for managing the Sustainment Team whose primary responsibility will be enhancements to existing applications and production support including production issue fixes.
The successful candidate will have the chance to be part of an advanced agile team and highly collaborative team, while working on a project that involves new technologies such as Pega.
Typical Day in Role
• Coordinate project releases amongst different teams
• Ensure all aspects of the project is ready for release
• Analyze highly complex business requirements
• Enhance existing applications in steady state to address change requests and production bugs.
• Proactively identify and track project risk and develop mitigation plans to manage risk
• Lead cross-functional teams, to build consensus, identify and resolve issues
• Provide timely and effective communications to all stakeholders on the project status, issues and risks
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
• Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) Strong Communication Skills – will be working closely with Stakeholders, Business, Developers, Internal Project Teams (coordinating & planning projects for release)
2) Experience coordinating with multiple teams (4+ teams) at a time – 2+ years
3) FI/Bank experience – understanding of how releases work in a Financial Institution – 2+ years
4) Experience with application releases – 5+ years
5) Strong experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word & SharePoint
6) Agile experience
7) Experience with production support or coordinating with a production support team
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Scrum Certified (CSM) or Scrum Experience
- Understanding of Jira & Confluence
- Project Management type of experience – discipline of project planning, milestones
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 1- Step Process: 1 In-Person Panel Interview with Scrum Masters & PMs from some of the teams

• Ideally looking for candidates with Project Coordinator or Release Coordination/Manager, Junior PM types of titles and roles
