Job Description A bank in Scarborough is looking for a Business analyst for a 3 month contract (extension likely based on funding & performance, potential to convert to FTE), The Canadian Data Platforms group is seeking an intermediate Business Analyst to work on the CIDC (Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation) project. The prime responsibility for the BA will be to translate requirements for the Developers to make changes to the existing CIDC regulatory product. The project is currently in the initial phases. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and supportive team while working in a flexible work environment. The candidate will also have the opportunity for growth and the potential to transition into a Senior BA role, or a different role within the Bank as this project involves different areas of the bank and can open up different avenues. Typical Day in Role • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies • Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers • Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities • Supports one or more highly complex business processes • Works on multiple projects as a project team member • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
Job Requirements Must Have Skills: 1) Overall BA Experience – 5+ years of experience 2) Strong experience translating requirements for developers– 5+ years 3) Extensive experience documenting (document changes, update old documents – EDD (Eternal design document) & BRD (business requirement document) & for development (TD) technical document) – 5+ years 4) Strong communication skills (written & verbal) – working closely with Developers, provide status updates, speak in meetings 5) Working knowledge of Jira – 2+ years of experience 6) Strong understanding of business process, application development and documentation Doesn’t need to be technical, but does need to business savvy and have a business mindset - Resume shouldn’t have any grammatical or spelling errors (should display good documentation and communication skills) - Focusing on how recent and relevant experience is - Want Canadian experience (at least 3+ years of experience) - Manager wants to see what kind of worker the candidate is (able to deal with competing priorities, handling pressure, taking initiative, self-starter, eager to learn, pays attention to detail) Nice-To-Have Skills: - Technical background - Regulatory background or worked on regulatory projects - Agile experience - FI/Banking experience Degrees or certifications: • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
