A bank in Scarborough is seeking an IT Security Analyst for a 10 Month contract. Vulnerability Management is seeking a Vulnerability Management Reporting Analyst. As part of the Vulnerability Management team, you will assist in managing and reporting the remediation of application & systems to bring them into compliance with Bank & Industry Security Standards. This role must be able to understand security standards and interpret their applicability to technologies and systems at Discovery. There are 3 core Security Programs – Web Application, Work Station Vulnerability, and Compliance – the Security Analyst will be managing one of the programs or all of them for certain groups and will help to remediate their issues (mainly the reporting end of it).
The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work in a large, diverse team (about 40 members) where they will get experience with cyber security, web application security and vulnerability management, along with a high possibility for extension.
Typical Day in Role:
- Will work with assessors to develop remediation plans, collect relevant artifacts that demonstrate compliance and work with system and application teams to remediate findings
- Work closely with all areas of security, business technology and associated business partners
- Address ad hoc requests (i.e. helping explain exposure of new vulnerability to bank)

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) IT Security Analyst – 3+ years of experience
2) Strong analytical skills with Excel (generate graphs, chart, analyze data, creating reports) – 5+ years of experience
3) Report on technical data – create technical documentation – 3+ years of hands on experience
4) Interact well with customers – different clients across the bank – outgoing, social, strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Looking for someone who has strong communication skill – will check this through their resume – this is most important *
- Experience must show they’re comfortable working with Directors and presenting/reporting
- Candidates must understand technical IT concepts and be able to explain them, but this is not an actual technical role
Soft- Skills:
- Strong communication skills (will be coordinating with Development team)
o Written and verbal (will be creating documentations)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power BI for reporting
- Previous Vulnerability Management experience
- FI/Banking experience
- CISA or CISSP Certifications
- IT Security Degrees
Degrees or certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
