Job Description	A bank in Scarborough is seeking a Business Analyst for a 3 month contract (Renew or FTE). The Commercial Projects is seeking a Senior Business System Analyst for a Consumer Protection Regulatory Program to ensure the inhouse tools meet the new regulations put in place. The BSA will gather requirements for the regulatory implementation (tech changes and operational changes, training needs, etc.). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain further hands on experience with Banking regulations and will likely have the opportunity to be extended and work on additional projects as their contract goes on and convert to FTE. Daily Responsibilities: • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies • Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers • Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities • Supports one or more highly complex business processes • Works on multiple projects as a project team member • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
Job Requirements	Must Have Skills: 1) 10+ years of experience as a Business System Analyst 2) 10+ years of hands on experience gathering requirements from Business (Stakeholders) & Technology (Developers) 3) 10+ years of hands on experience with documentation (BRD, Process Documentation, Technical Documents, etc.) 4) 10+ years of experience with Agile & Waterfall (altogether) 5) 5+ years of hands on extensive hands on experience with technology implementations 6) Open to potential conversion to FT - The more experience the better, but must be hands on & recent Soft Skills: • Ability to work with various experts, stakeholders, developers & teams (cross-functional teams) • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) Nice to Haves: - FI/Banking experience (Scotiabank or One of the Big 5 Banks) - Canadian banking regulatory or compliance project experience - Experience with process re-engineering Degrees: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
