A bank in Downtown Toronto is seeking a Senior Analyst Developer. The GWRT Global Portfolio Group is responsible for servicing Global Capital Markets worldwide and delivering system solutions for the Global trading platforms.
• Project: This project requires expertise from a strong Java Developer who has experience with database development.
• Project: The group is working on a Trade Surveillance Project that will leverage the banks Data Lake for vendor applications to create new data feeds utilizing Kafka and Nifi technology.
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use the newest Nifi technology to optimize trade platforms on a global scale. The candidates will also have an opportunity to join a flexible team that utilize Agile best practices to ensure projects deliverables continue to be met.
Typical Day in Role
• Design, develop and enhance existing software - typically in Java – migrating to microservices where possible
• Participate in design, scalability and implementation discussions
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Participate in various agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups etc.)
• Scope, break-down and estimate development tasks
• Mentor more junior members of the team to success
• Be a design and tech evangelist, advocating for new industry standards
• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
