Job Description	A bank in Scarborough is seeking a Mainframe and DB2 Web Developer for a 3 month contract (May be renewed or go FTE). The Database Services - Mainframe & DB2 is seeking an intermediate front-end web developer who will be responsible for designing and developing user interface to support tools and projects within the database service team. They will be working on a DB2 project which requires the creation and enhancement of a visual tool to monitor almost 200 databases and their performance. The project is currently in the initial phases. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain further hands on experience with DB2 and will likely have the opportunity to be extended and work on additional projects as their contract goes on. Daily Responsibilities: • Work within a database service team which partners with data modeling team, application teams, and support teams. • Understand requirements that drive the design of technical solutions. • Provide support for testing efforts and defect resolution. • Create and maintain detailed design documents. • Ability to quickly ramp up on and apply new technologies and processes. • Provide peer review and quality control on a daily basis.
Job Requirements	Must Have Skills: 1) 2+ years of front-end software development experience in web 2) Java (experience with most recent version the better) – 2+ years of hands on experience 3) Has expert knowledge with client-side technologies, such as HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, RxJS, etc. (experience with all is preferred but must have experience with at least 2-3 of these) – 1+ years of hands on experience 4) Experience with front-end build tools, such as NPM, Yarn, Gulp, etc. (experience with at least 1 or 2 of these) – 1+ years of hands on experience 5) Proficient with source code versions tools (BitBucket/Git) – 1+ years of hands on experience 6) Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC – 2+ years of hands on experience 7) Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver technology-based deployments – 1+ years of hands on experience 8) Strong knowledge of micro services architecture & frameworks 9) Portfolio of work - The more experience the better, but must be hands on & recent Soft Skills: • Strong organization and planning skills. • Strong communication skills (both oral and written). • Innovative thinking Nice to Haves: - Familiarity with DB2 LUW database - Familiarity with SQL Server database - FI/Banking experience - Having experience with similar projects and trouble shooting - Experience/Knowledge designing and implementing cloud-based applications (Azure is preferred) - Development or Design Certifications Degrees: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
