| Job Description |
The Database Administrator functions as a technical resource within the organization to maintain and support mission critical databases with high expectation for accuracy. The role will assist in discovering and supporting the evolving needs of the Business to ensure the solutions meets regulatory requirements and is maintained, restorable and performs optimally. The role configures systems, solves complex problems with Oracle and/ or SQL Server databases as needed. The position writes shell scripts, installs computer systems, and assists in project evaluation, design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Support, administer and maintain the database environments running Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Develop and implement administration standards and procedures.
Troubleshoot database problems as required.
Create and configure databases as per requirement.
Create new database environment (DEV/QA/UAT/Production) and maintain existing environments.
Monitor, tune and troubleshoot existing databases.
Configure and monitor backup of databases.
Work closely with Project Managers and developers to ensure the right solution.
Perform Releases and Implementation to all database environments.
Participate as required in a 24-hour on-call support rotation.
Maintain database security.
Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.
Monitor patch releases and develop patch installation strategies.

| Job Requirements |
University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Oracle Certification for Database Administration
Minimum 7 years relevant work experience as a DBA using Oracle 11g/10g/9i
Minimum 5 years’ experience with AIX, Solaris or Linux
Experience/knowledge with Data Guard and OEM Grid Control and RAC.
Experience with UNIX shell and PL/SQL scripting
Working knowledge of SQL Server.
Strong interpersonal/organizational skills
Ability to adopt standards and system change implementation methodology
Strong analytical and technical trouble-shooting skills.
Experience with DNS, SMTP, NFS, SNMP and configuration management tools
Experience in administering MSSQL 2008 databases
Experience with CommVault or any other enterprise backup software.
Experience with virtualization and SAN/NAS technology
Experience installing running Apache/Tomcat in a Production environment
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills in order to interact in a professional manner with all customer
